BAND-PASS FILTERS ON SYMMETRIC STRIP LINES

The results of experimental investigations of stripline band-pass filters with stepped-impedance resonators operating in the frequency range 1500─2500 MHz are presented. It is shown that the using of stepped-impedance resonators breaks the multiplicity factor in frequency positioning of passbands in such filters. This allows suppressing harmonics of output signal in transmitters and widening stopband for parasitic signals in receivers. The composite stripline filters combining a band-pass filter with stepped-impedance resonator and one or two low-pass filters are considered. It is proved that the combined stripline filters have wide rejection bands exceeding a decade. A determination of stripline resonators quality-factor Q and its comparison with those of existing ceramic structures are performed.
