The initial stage of underwater trunk lines development in 1850-1858 has been reviewed and analyzed using the criterion of extent maximization. In accordance with this criterion, 7 objects with their geographic referencing are singled out from those 49 which have been put into operation. Brief history of creation of each object considered is given in this paper, as well as diagrams, demonstrating the dynamics of extension of the first underwater trunk lines.References
